My aunt says I am not artistic enough when it comes to taking pictures, that I would waste rolls of films if this camera wasn’t digital. She asks me why I take pictures of strange and hideous things. “This is not hideous,” I said, “This is odd.” I was going to say, “This reminds me of Alice in Wonderland,” but forget it, no one in China has heard of Alice in Wonderland, at least not in my circle. Doesn’t this pavilion reminds you a little of the mushroom houses in Wonderland?

You made me giggle at what your aunt said. And yes…this has a resemblance of the mushroom in Alice.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought so. 🙂

Cute! You have to be artistic to see the beauty in strange and hideous things.

Thanks. I agree completely. I think my aunt is too realistic about things and has trouble seeing something ugly turn into something amazing in imagination.

This is actually a very well composed photo. You’ve got that gorgeous splash of color in the left foreground to attract the viewer’s eye and then the bushes in the mid range frame the mushroom. Nicely done! 🙂
