I closed May 2018 with a hike with my mom and a group of enthusiastic hikers. Advertisements
One way for a landscape photographer to catch people unaware: aim the camera higher than the height the people are standing or you can do what I do – go to a crowded place (like the City of Phoenix in China) and I can guarantee you can catch someone unaware. Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge
Here is something I look forward to do again in 2019 – Guns n’ Grubs.
When I think of challenge, I think of my hiking adventure up Waterfall Canyon in 2017.
…and we are into May. Yay!
When I think tranquil, I think calm waters. When I think tranquil, I also think spending a few hours watching animals live their lives. Tuesday Photo Challenge
Here is a look from my third hike this year – the hike that probably brought new fears to my life and had the most impact on my hiking experience even though I can most definitely blame myself for wearing poor traction shoes on this hike.
I had my second hiking adventure at the end of February.
This was taken in Park City early 2018 during one of my two trips to Park City during this entire year.
After China, my next adventure was originally going to be heading home to sleep and to re-adjust to the time zone but my mom had other plans.
I went to Bear Lake for the second time last week.
And of course, the trip of the year has to be my second trip to China.
I absolutely love water photography and take every chance I can get to photograph it. This picture is from my most recent trip to Bear Lake. It was my second time to visit this beautiful lake. My first time was in September. This time, I came with my mom and her friends. I was once…
When my mom called my former student’s mother, aka her friend, last Saturday, I knew this Thanksgiving would be similar to last year’s Christmas – we would be spending the day with my former student’s family.
This will definitely go down as one of my most memorable views of 2018.
I went on a day trip yesterday. It wasn’t to any place new. I went to Bear Lake back in September, during Labor Day weekend. The only difference this time was I wasn’t the one driving and we went all the way to Montpelier, Idaho. Along the way, I saw an abundance of bear statues.…
Every year, right about the week of Thanksgiving, I will begin to reflect upon the year – travels, hiking, adventures, accomplishments, etc.

It’s been so cold lately that I haven’t had a chance to go out and check out my backyard.
This wasn’t easy but somehow, I managed to find a few images featuring trios. I hope you enjoy my take on this topic.
I woke up on Sunday morning to a thin layer of that white stuff on my back lawn.
I just love the white aspen trees in this picture.
Food is and always will be my go-to comfort… Tuesday Photo Challenge
