#WeekendCoffeeShare: So Much Yet So Little

Good Sunday morning! It’s been a while since my last #WeekendCoffeeShare. Three weeks to be accurate. Wow! Well, what are you waiting for? Come on in and have a cup of steamy hot coffee with me.

So much has happened yet it seems like so little has happened. I need a recap. What did we talk about the last time we met?

Oh, ah yes, Halloween!

You know the worst part of having a tablet instead of a smartphone? Not being able to fit it in my pocket! I recorded none of the fun events that happened at work on Halloween – the costume parade, the photo booth, the scavenger hunt, the best barbecue ribs I’ve ever had. I got none of it in pictures. All because my tablet is so heavy to be carrying it with me while I ran around the building searching for clues for the scavenger hunt. I guess those will forever remain in my head as precious priceless memories.

My team didn’t win the scavenger hunt. We ended up coming in 4 minutes behind the winning team. Darn!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you I spent that weekend in beautiful and quiet Park City, Utah for a ladies retreat. I stayed there for one night and had lots of fun. I learned about art therapy – drawing without looking at the paper – and the art of Zentangle. As strange as it sounds, it was relaxing.

The best part of this retreat was getting to do one last hike before 2018 ends. I wanted to do one last scenic drive too but the scenic roads I wanted to go on were closed until next spring. Oh well, I’ll add that to the list of places to go in 2019.

Here are some pictures from my hike up Iron Canyon in Park City, Utah.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you my aunts and one of my cousins are coming in a month. One of my aunts and cousin are coming to stay while my other aunt will return early next year to help my mom to sell the apartment in China. After waiting 13 years, my mom’s entire family is now legal immigrants of the U.S.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you I haven’t been writing much on my blog these last few weeks. The reason being I have been trying to return to old school – writing on paper with a pencil instead of typing on a computer. I have been wanting to write some stories for a while and typing on a keyboard never felt right. Then after the art therapy at the retreat, I decided to try to write with pencil and paper. I don’t know what it is but something just feels right.

Lastly, if we were having coffee, I would tell you thank you for dropping by and having a cup of coffee with me and I will try my hardest to come back in 6 or 7 days.

  1. Goodto hear from you. Glad you’ve been having fun. You can take pics on youriPad no? I do on mine. Or was it just too big to carry around? Congrats to your mom and relatives for becoming landed immigrants. That’s a long process . Here it’s much less, but 7 year b4 you can apply/take tests etc. For Canadian Citizenship. I hope it’s nice to see your relatives & not extra stressful. Are you still saving for your own apartment?

  2. Great to hear from you! I long to revisit Utah, so beautiful out there. Are those white trees birch? I love, love, LOVE photographing white birch trees against a blue sky. Beautiful shot. Thanks for the coffee, have a great week!

  3. I love writing with pen or pencil on paper. Still my favorite way, and because i’m older, what i did growing up. It adds a certain something to stories, i think.

These are all wonderful pics. Beautiful examples of late fall.
