In regards to puzzle what’s your choice: jigsaw, crossword, word search, mazes, logic or numeric puzzles, something else, or nothing?

I love all kinds of puzzles except crossword because I can never figure out the word that is supposed to go in the blanks. I used to do a lot of jigsaw puzzles – the more pieces the better – but in the recent years, I can never find the time or the space to put together those masterpieces. Nowadays, I do a lot of word searches and Sudoku on my tablet especially when I’m stuck and needed to think about something else.

List at least five favorite treats and it doesn’t necessarily have to be food.

  1. Getting to sleep in without my mom storming down the stairs. I swear, no one can sleep with that loud boom.
  2. Going on a road-trip (solo road-trip would be heavenly)
  3. Going on a scenic hike
  4. Taking photographs
  5. Dining at a diner or an one-of-kind restaurant that serves breakfast all day long.
  6. Going on a vacation
  7. A gourmet banana split

What is your favorite type of dog? (can be anything from a specific breed, a stuffed animal or character in a movie)

My favorite type of dog is of course stuffed animal. Real dogs are too much of a clean-up job for me. If I can have a real dog, my favorite type would be a any kind of puppy but I will probably need help cleaning him up.

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

Not much made me smile this past week. It was another work week and going home to suffer under my mom’s criticism and lectures.

What made me smile though was baking another pound cake. Baking always makes me happy. I finally purchased The Cake Bible by Rose Levy Beranbaum despite my mom’s angry glare. I tweaked the pound cake recipe a little bit by substituting milk for coconut milk, vanilla extract for coconut extract and I reduced the amount of sugar by 30 grams. I also baked it in a water bath. The cake turned out great but I think I will sift the flour a few more times on my next try and perhaps not bake for too long. The cake still felt a little dry for me.
