Flash Fiction for Aspiring Writers: First Date

Characters were inspired by this story

“Do you remember what you said on our first date?” Princess Rosie said, giggling. Prince James’ face immediately reddened, “You said a princess once tread these parts of the land.” They said the last few words in unison.

“And I was absolutely right.” He grabbed her hand and twirled her around until she was facing him. As she gazed into his eyes, she stopped for a moment. It was as though she was mesmerized by him until a moment later, she put a hand over her mouth and burst out laughing. “What?” He asked.

She shook her head, “Nothing, just thinking about your face in that moment just…” She turned and glanced at the windmill. “So are we going up there or not?”

(~123 words)

I am participating in Flash Fiction for Aspiring Writer, where we write a piece between 100 and 150 words (more or less 25 words) in length inspired by the photo prompt above.
