Good Sunday morning or shall I one last time say good Sunday night because this is my last weekend in China and if you recall, China is still sixteen hours ahead of the Mountain time zone. Let’s have tea again, shall we?
The weather here has been gradually getting cooler, as if Mother Nature wants me to get used to the cold again before heading back to the freezing tundra I call home. It’s supposed to start raining (probably just an annoying mist) here in China tomorrow until Wednesday which will be the day I hop back on the plane again.
If we were drinking tea, I would tell you I got my family stuff sorted out for now. My mom will take care the rest when she returns to China in April. Whew! I didn’t think it would be successful. When taking care of family stuff in China, almost 90% of the time, something will go wrong due to being misinformed by government employees. When you request information from a government employee in China, each one will tell you something different. It’s very frustrating.
However, I was successful this time and I am very grateful.
If we were drinking tea, I would tell you I had quite an adventurous week. I went on a hiking expedition, I went to Macau, and I went to Hong Kong. I got in trouble for going on a hike but it was totally worth it.
I had quite a workout walking around Macau. At the end of the day, my Fitbit registered more than 28,000 steps and over 10 miles of walking. I was exhausted and didn’t want to move the next day.
As for Macau and Hong Kong in general, I didn’t like it that much, mostly because of the crowds. Everywhere I looked, there were lots of people.
I had to wait in line for a hour to ride the tram to Victoria Peak in Hong Kong and had to wait in line for another hour to get back. Waiting in line that day reminded me a little of the Running of the Bulls in Spain. The moment the doors to the tram opened, people behind me rushed and pushed me forward like a stampede of wild bulls was running after them. It was insane!
If we were having tea, I would thank you for joining me this weekend. I have enjoyed the last two weeks in China but I am looking forward to going home, back to my fruit smoothies, heated house, and healthy lifestyle. Therefore, I will join you next weekend back in the good old U.S. of A.
