“We can’t be together,” Cami whined in frustration, “Now stop the car and let me go.”
Reluctantly, James pulled the car to the side of the road. Cami pushed the car door open and hurried out of the car. “Why not?” James asked. Cami looked away, wiping the tears from her eyes. James grabbed her by the wrist and spun her around to face him, “I demand to know why not. People don’t break up for no reason.”
Cami pulled her wrist free. “You’re right, people don’t break up for no reason. So let me give you one.” She sprinted down the deserted road and as she did, her form began to change and before long, she had transformed into a fire-breathing dragon. As a dragon, she soared to the sky and circled above James, whose shock had caused him to stumble and fall on the ground.
Above ten miles away, as two dragons roamed the recycling plant, they received a message from Cami, “You’re right, humans and dragons cannot be together.”
