“Where are you going?!” Cory shouted as he followed Jacob through the woods. Normally, on their usual route home, they would take the right fork but instead, Jacob had taken the left fork today.

“A shortcut!” Jacob shouted 100 feet ahead.

Feeling he had no choice, Cory followed through the roller-coaster terrain and sharp curves and what felt like an eternity later, they’d finally arrived. “Okay, this isn’t home.” Cory concluded a moment later.

“Nope,” Jacob pointed out, “this is better than home. Welcome to our home away from home.” Cory’s brows shot up as he thought, really, an abandoned lighthouse?

  1. An abandoned lighthouse — what a treat 🙂 If only I could find my own refuge by the sea — what a wonderful place to reflect, wander, and write ❤ Thank you for joining us again this week 🙂
