“Hey, did you hear? Maggie said, “Kathy got herself a job.”
“Oh?” Susan said. She’d heard Kathy had been trying to get a job for months now. “Congratulations to her,” She gingerly sipped her coffee.
“What does she do now?” Pam asked nosily. “Giving bath to the homeless? Cleaning the sewers?”
“I’ve heard she’s a nanny for a rich family. Roger told me he spotted Kathy on the bus one morning carrying a suitcase in one hand and books in the other. Oh he told me she was wearing those ridiculous black leather shoes.”
Pam clicked her tongue. “Poor dear.”
