She’d been asking around, showing a piece of paper with his address to passerby. She’d hoped to surprise him here in his hometown and had counted on her phone working to point her in the right direction but it’d died and she hadn’t had the chance to charge it. “Excuse me,” she asked a passerby in a near-perfect Italian accent, “I’m trying to get here, would you mind pointing me to the right direction?”
“Sure,” the passerby said, pointing at the castle across the river. “It’s quite a famous landmark.”
“Thanks.” She smiled and walked away. Great, I’ve been duped.
