“Do you remember,” she asks, “the night we met. We were dancing in a place exactly like this.” She glances at the ceiling and feels like the angels are watching her. Then she looks back at him and gasps. He looks exactly like that night, with his dark hair and blue eyes.
He smiles, “You mean like what we’re doing right now?” She looks down at her snow-white dress and her velvety soft skin. They’re seventeen again.
“H-how?” She stammers.
He chuckles and whispers into her ear, “let’s pretend for a moment that this is true.” He steps back and bows, she does the same. She gently lays her right hand on his palm and left hand on his shoulder. They begin to dance, round and round on the smooth floor. Her dress twirls as she twirls. She tilts her head back and closes her eyes, wishes this will last forever.
He holds her hands tight in his, his eyes squeeze shut as tears begin to fall. “I love you.” He whispers as she fades.
